Update 30 - Online scores!
Greetings, Hard Chip players!
This one will be a short update, but an interesting one nonetheless:
1. New Online Scores: Each challenges reports results of other players! Previously it was a hardcoded results but now it is fully dynamic.
It now reports your best, previous, and current scores for block counts, footprint of the die, ticks to complete the puzzle, and transistors count.
Note this is a "breathing system" animated by the results of other players. A challenge that hasn't been done a lot might be quite empty. With time, it will fill up!
2. Update on transistor visuals to indicate which state that can let be through
It was pretty easy to forget the behavior of PMOS and NMOS blocks. For example, NMOS are activated by a Down state (negatively triggered) but can only let through an Up state! So, in the screenshot, both PMOS are activated, but only the one fed with the Up state works.
So to remind the player of this rule, the sides of the channel are colored according to the compatible state!
3. QOL, Bug, and Crash fixes:
1. Crash on die Resize on challenges
2. Die operations now respect unmodifiable positions set by challenges (notably shrink operations)
3. VSync ON by default
4. Tooltips with shortcuts on various UI elements in the Editor (copy/past, camera controls)
5. Fix bad transistor counts in the Challenge report window
As always, your feedback/suggestions/comments are instrumental in making this game.
Thank you for playing Hard Chip, and stay tuned for more updates and new features!
